Brazosport Regional Health System offers a state of the art diagnostic imaging center. The new facility contains a spacious waiting room and high-tech equipment with elegant colors to make you feel at home.
Diagnostic imaging offers a full range of advanced imaging services including Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Computed Tomography (CT), Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound, and Mammography.
MRI
Our Siemens Espree MRI provides clear, detailed images and speed. Its Open Bore concept combines the patient comfort of an “open” MRI with the speed and image quality of a 1.5T high field strength system. With an overall length of less than four feet, an opening that provides a foot of head room and a maximum capacity of 440 lbs, we can accommodate most patients. Combine that with our wall of windows, it virtually eliminates any fear of enclosed or confined spaces. MRI scans at Brazosport Regional include:

CT
Our 40-Slice Siemens Sensation Open CT Scanner delivers both high-resolution image quality and shorter exam times. The gantry’s large 82-centimeter opening and spacious 6-foot by 6-foot sky light canopy provide patients with a tranquil, relaxed atmosphere. CT scans at Brazosport Regional include:

Nuclear Medicine
Nuclear medicine is an exam that utilizes radioactive material to detect and help diagnose disease and conditions. Nuclear medicine utilized at Brazosport Regional includes:
· Hepatobiliary scan
· Thyroid scan
· Bone scan
· Nuclear stress test
· PET/CT (Oncology Applications) Scanning
Ultrasound (Sonography)
Ultrasound uses high-frequency sound waves to produce pictures of the inside of the body. Ultrasound images are captured in real-time and show the structure and movement of the body’s internal organs. Ultrasounds do not involve exposure to radiation. Ultrasounds at Brazosport Regional included:

· Vascular (Arterial & Venous)

· Male anatomy

Mammography
Approximately 1 in 8 women in the United States are diagnosed with breast cancer each year. Our American College of Radiology (ACR) and Food & Drug Administration (FDA) approved Mammography Service here at Brazosport Regional Health System, performs both screening and diagnostic mammography procedures in an attractive, female friendly environment. We offer extended hours each weekday until 7:30 PM Monday-Friday for screening mammography
Our trained staff utilizes the Soft Touch MammoPad to make the procedure more comfortable to the patient. Each screening mammogram gets a “2nd-look” with the iCad Second Look computer aided detection device to assist the doctors in detecting breast cancer.
Diagnostic X-Ray
As the largest operating unit in Radiology, the diagnostic-x-ray unit has state of the art equipment to take care of every patients need. The new digital x-ray imaging allows our radiologist to have high-quality imaging results. Our imaging services support every service line throughout the hospital. In fact, we have portable equipment so patients can have the luxury of diagnostic room service. From head to toe, our general radiology service line can help with your every need.
